Olympian Jiwa's twin sons want to play for Australia

KUALA LUMPUR — The saying “a chip off the old block” doubly applies to Malaysia’s hockey Olympian Jiwa Mohan.

His 14-year-old twin sons, Kryshant and Kriish, want to follow in his footsteps. So, it’s two chips off the old block in this case.

And there is a kooky twist. The two boys, who were born in Western Australia, hope to represent the Kookaburras in the Olympics.

If they get to represent Australia, it is a big thing as the Kookaburras are a hockey power, and are Olympic medal contenders.

Thank you. Once again, all the best!

Soulful Jiwa

PETALING JAYA: The experience of studying and playing in Perth from 2008 and 2013 exposed former hockey international Jiwa Mohan to a different sports culture abroad and he is now putting his heart and soul into reviving the game in a big way back home.

Jiwa was attached to an Australian company as a mechanical engineer, and started pursuing a Masters degree in business administration (oil and gas) at the Curtin University from 2010-2013 while still part of the national team.
